HTC Wildfire S Game:Solitaire Challenge

This item was filled under [ Games ]

This week, although we provide many options for a more 3D games and many more, I was “mesmerized” by a simple game called Solitaire Challenge, which I played on my HTC Wildfire S.

The game, developed by Romanian company Lasting Software is simple: it is the classic solitaire, but with a trick: playing against another competitor into the server, counter-time. So who finishes first, takes the points.

The system is cool: once connected to the server, the game knows who you are by e-mail which you synchronized the phone. I, for example, play this game on two phones- Desire HD and HTC Wildfire S, I was very pleasantly surprised that both games are connected to the same account. More: If you start the game on a phone, after you start the other, the second game will continue where you left the first.

I played the Solitaire Challenge game for a week on my HTC Wildfire S and I just barely managed to get into top 15 -but generally I’m currently ranked 170th (but by morning there’s time).

HTC Wildfire S App: Llama

This item was filled under [ Apps ]

The most interesting and useful application that I installed recently on my HTC Wildfire S is called Llama and comes from Location Aware Mobile Application. What is it? You control the phone depending on location. For example, if you must have the phone on vibration at work, the program automatically recognizes that you are at work (through GSM operator cells, not GPS, so it does not consume much battery) and it passes into vibration mode. Basically, it does what you say, when you say. Like a Tasker, but free and friendly.

How does it work?
Program running ”events” defined by the user. An event has three variables: area, condition and action.
The area is learned. When you get to a place that you want to remember, create a new location and you tell the program to learn - it will remember the GSM  cells (or cell) covering that place and save them in his data base.
The condition is an option like “when I get into the X,” ”When you no longer are in the Y”, “If music is running”, ”If the phone is charging” etc..
The action is an option like “running the X application”, ”Run WiFi”, ”Stop GPS and Bluetooth”, etc..
The Llama application is easy to use and very, very good - besides the advantage that can change the phone settings by itself, saves battery too(turning off BT, WiFi, etc.), and it works perfect on HTC Wildfire S.

HTC Wildfire S Tutorial: Synchronizing contacts with Google Account

This item was filled under [ Root & Hack ]

One of the most important and useful features of Android is syncing the phone data with Google account. This means that once you introduced the numbers in your Google account, they will automatically appear in any new phone, like HTC Wildfire S, with Android. Is useful for those who frequently change their phone and this is like using a preventive measure in case of loss or theft of the phone (after buying a new phone, the contacts are not lost).

How do we, but the phone numbers in your Google account?
There are two options: the obvious and time-consuming (change every single one) and the fast way. This tutorial, of course, refers to phones running on Android, but from step 4 on, it goes for other phones too.
We will need:
- A phone that runs Android
- Access to a computer
- Access to account on that phone that runs Google
- Access to the phone’s SD card
procedure:
1. On the phone, go to Contacts (or People, in case you run HTC Sense interface).
2. Press ”Menu” then ”Import / Export”.

3. Press Export to SD, then OK.

4. When you have a .Vcf file go into Gmail.
5. Click on Contacts (1.), Then click More Actions (2.), Then clickImport (3.).

6. In the window that appears, click Choose File and select the file you saved to your SD card.

7. Congratulations! Now you have the phone numbers in your Google account - if you reset the phone or if you buy another one, like HTC Wildfire S, all you have to do is login with Google account and the numbers will synchronize themselves!

This comparison is between two extremely similar smartphones: HTC Wildfire S and LG Optimus Net, in the battler to see who comes on top.

Starting with the size, we can see that HTC measures 101.3 x 59.4 x 12.4 mm and weights 105 g, while LG measures 113.5 x 59 x 12.1 mm and weights about 122g. From this me can determine that HTC is lighter and thinner then LG.

The display comparison shows that HTC presents a 3,2 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen, 256K colors with 320 x 480 pixels, just like LG, but with a plus in the Gorilla Glass display type. Moving on to the internal memory, we can see that HTC has a 2 GB storage space with 512 MB ROM and 512 MB RAM, compared to LG’s 150 MB storage with 512MB RAM. Making HTC more advanced and faster running, with a larger storage space.

The camera chapter shows that HTC is equipped with a 5 MP camera, 2592 x 1944 pixels, with autofocus and LED flash, compared to LG’s 3.15 MP, 2048×1536 pixels. The operating system is the same for both HTC Wildfire S and LG Optimus Net, running on Android Gingerbread.
